Half Dome towers over the Yosemite Valley floor in the afternoon light. 

The Rialto Theatre is a landmark in South Pasadena and one of the last single screen theaters left California. The Spanish architecture along the side of the building included this door, window and tile roof.

Outside Cripple Creek, Colorado, I painted this plein air during Victor Celebrates the Arts Festival. The gold rush country is dotted with old gold mines and there is one on the distant hills looking upstream.  

The rugged shores along the California coast are a dramatic example of the oceans force. Broken remnants of a road which once skirted along the coast is cast onto the shore below, stark evidence of the oceans power. The rocks are continually battered... 

Inspired by a plein air painting completed at Balboa Island, this painting captures the hazy morning sunlight just as the fog is starting to dissipate. The diffused light casts a thoughtful mood on the pier and docked boats. 

The morning sun reflected off the Pacific and through the pier at Malibu as the waves rolled into the beach.

Inspired from a painting I did on location at Malibu Creek State Park. The sunset cast a magical glow over the mountains and touched the tops of the trees through the gorge just before it was gone. I created a dramatic effect with rich colors.  

My trip to Italy was wonderful. It has inspired several paintings which helped me recall the luminous light that soaked the landscape. This lake is in the middle of Rome in the Borghese Gardens. It appeared like a mirage, lovely and serene.

This field of spring cherry blossoms was a lovely reminder of the changing seasons. With all the rain, this year the wild flowers and spring blooms have been especially wonderful. Painting these trees was a pleasure.
