The black vase in this painting belongs to my mother. Whenever I was in it's presence, the inspiring reflections on the glass surface would always catch my eye. I finally borrowed it to do this still life painting, with the intention to capture that ... 

One of my favorite towns to visit here in Arizona is Bisbee. It's always interesting...this scene with the Harleys parked at this historical church, is actually not unusual. I have scene these bikes parked here on several occasions. It certainly made... 

"Geranium Basket" is one of my first plein air paintings done in 2009. The area of this painting that ended up being my favorite part, are the fallen petals on the table. They were the final touch to the painting and really completed the piece for me... 

This sunflower photo was taken in my garden in the morning while I was watering. I often keep my camera on hand as I work in the garden because there are always those bits of magic taking place that, if I am lucky, I can capture. This was one of thos... 

This is a painting of a cactus that I had for years outside my studio. Last winter, a freak cold spell hit here in the desert and took out so many of our plants, including this cactus. She bloomed like this every year and she will be missed very much... 

My favorite time of year here in the desert is the spring time when the blossoms of the cacti happen. I am particularly fond of the prickly pear blossom which inspired this painting. 

This was an interesting and challenging piece to do because the drawn out design was a prime number. Trying to paint out a pattern that is an odd number is tricky at best and in all honesty it was mostly luck that landed the "even" painted design. A...

Took this shot during a spectacular spring where the Arizona poppies here where I live exploded. It was a sea of poppies. A true gift in the desert.
