An autumn walk in the Whiteshell before the forest awoke for the day. There was a chill in the air. The only sound was the crackling of leaves beneath my feet. I took a deep breath of moist air and felt the vastness of the natural forest around me.

This little guy really gets into the season by diving into the soft new snow fall. Our little pom can't wait for winter.

I really can't explain how this painting finally evolved into this. I began with a study of my face which ending up a face of my youth. I found the expression melancholy and liked the direction this took me. The water was more of a looking glass and ... 

Some days I just feel like playing with paint and texture. This painting has at least 12 layers of luscious creamy acrylic paint which I poured, painted and manipulated. What fun! I love it! 

I find daylilies quite like my garden location. They thrive. I caught this moment after a summer rain where a very special flower has quenched its thirst. 

Iris gets its name from the Greek word for Rainbow. Which makes sense as every Iris in my garden appears to sport a different combination colors. This makes the task of thinning out the rhizomes in the fall extra difficult for me as I fear I will loo...

A lucky find. Six lovely yellow lady slippers in full bloom this June in the Whiteshell. I find it amazing that a delicate flower such as this is able to withstand our harsh northern winters.
