A dreamlike landscape which evokes the warm colors of the desert with magical dots, lines and splatters. There are several layers of paint and textures taht create a tapestry of tones and hues. The overall effect is somewhat like a mirage.

This painting of Devils' Peak as seen from across Table Bay, is rendered in a simplified style of flattened, high constrast blocks of color, bringing the image nearer abstraction. It has a calm, peaceful and meditative quality.

These rolling mountains in the Cape Province in South Africa are called the Swartberge which means Black Mountains. The landscape is bathed in sunlight most of the year. 

This piece of a dead tree trunk, gnarled and bent amongst the desert sand dunes, offered a wonderful opportunity to explore design and color. 

The acacia tree silhoutted on the savannah is an iconic image from Africa. I think this looks like the Karroo, the semi desert area in the Western Cape.  

Devil's Peak is one of the beloved peaks that form the backdrop to Cape Town, South Africa. This is the view from across Table Bay, from Blauberg Strand.
