This is one of a series of paintings called "Strata". These are abstract interpretations and expressions of any sources that are inspirations to visualize or imagine layers. Example of such sources are anything from clouds, to ocean waves, to broken... 

This is from my Africa series. It is an abstract based on prints, images, and symbols found in Malian fabrics, especially in the traditional mud cloth. 

I have an on-going series of flowers, bouquets, and gardens. Occasionally I am just overcome with a gorgeous arrangement of flowers, and I have to paint my interpretation. 

I like to photograph glasses of wine enjoyed when traveling - which inspires paintings that interpret or abstract the photos.

While flying across the country, I spent almost the entire trip sketching views out the window of the contours and shapes of the terrain. The sketches were then totally abstracted.

Traveling in Greece, I was fascinated by the variety and beauty of all of the wonderful doors and gates.

This piece is from my Africa series. These are Malian women susuing - which is the Bambara word for pounding the grain. They susu the millet grain even in the hot sun. Millet is their locally grown grain that is a staple in their diet. They work ...
