Hi, my name is Bil Cox. I've been around since 1959. I've been drawing and coloring and painting since grade school. I have no formal art education except what I learned in art clas at High School. I spent 13 years in the Billboard Industry woring construction and learning sign painting and a lot of short cuts for pictorial signs.
I had gotten injured on a billboard and an electrical line that eventually caused me to leave the Billboard Industry. I quit doing any art for over 17 years. Recently I have once again started drawing and painting, mostly drawing. I haven't been doing many originals, I've mostly been reproducing photos that people want done in pencil, charcoal and graphite. I do mix these mediums within one drawing a lot of times. I also started doing color drawings with colored pencils.
I'm not much of an abstract artists as I have always loved realism. I concentrate mostly on portrait drawings. My largest was of my own family. It contained my wife, myself, my 4 daughters and 3 grandchildren. 3'x4' ! My mom was my inspiration to complete this massive drawing.
I found this community through a fellow artist. I would love to show my art examples, maybe sell some things along the way or do some commission drawings or paintings.
