An accomplished musician, Vicky Tarcau combined her interest for violin with her love of visual arts at the Montreal University of Quebec, where she studied Fine Arts. Since then, she experimented in various mediums, with a special taste for acrylic. Her favorite subjects include breath-taking Floridian sunsets over the ocean, tropical scenery, and wildlife such as horses and birds. Inspired by French impressionism, her creative drive comes from a passion for bright colors and shapes that suggest motion.
“When I first assembled a fresco-like painting in a corner, I tried to produce the impression of a third dimension in a panoramic fashion. Flamingos and horses stretch into imaginary lines, creating the illusion that the painting is enlarged beyond its own canvas. As light shine on the canvas, touches of gold and silver dance on the paint to produce volume.”
