Vicki Maheu resides in Kingston, WA and is loving her life homeschooling her children and creating art that reflects the beauty of God's creation and His grace toward humankind. She has always enjoyed photography, drawing in pencil, pastels, oil pastels, and ink, and has recently grown to love painting with Acrylics above all other media.
With the exception of a Junior High Art class, she is a self taught artist, always reading art history, looking at other artist's work, exploring their methods, styles, and practices, and trying many different things as she seeks to establish her own style. Lately she moves more and towards wildlife art, but also enjoys painting abstract, surrealist, and impressionist styles.
She admires the work of several artists of the past, but considers the work of Vincent Van Gogh to surpass that of any artist before or since, and so she plans to start experimenting with expressionism and post expressionism, and dreams of some day painting after Van Gogh's unique style, but with her own unique twist.
