Vicki Maheu resides in Kingston, WA and is loving her life homeschooling her children and creating art that reflects the beauty of God's creation and His grace toward humankind. She has always enjoyed photography, drawing in pencil, pastels, oil pastels, and ink, and has recently grown to love painting with Acrylics above all other media.
With the exception of a Junior High Art class, she is a self taught artist, always reading art history, looking at other artist's work, exploring different methods, styles, and practices. She admires the work of several artists of the past, but considers the work of Vincent Van Gogh to surpass that of any artist before or since.
As for her own art, she paints in several styles depending on the subject matter. Landscapes tend to receive a more impressionistic treatment, while portraits lean toward realism, and she also has begun to build a substantial amount of surreal and abstract work.
