My artist dream is to have the freedom, time and money to paint pictures that “wow” people. I have had an interest in art since I was a teenager. I enjoy painting with acrylics, because of the fast drying time and vibrant colors. I have taken some art classes over the years, but I am mostly a self-taught artist.
I enjoy painting landscapes, animals and pictures that move me. I do paintings that have intense color and where light plays an important part with the highlights, reflections or sunrays. My painting style is realistic and detailed.
Painting is very relaxing to me and having Multiple Sclerosis, relaxation is the best medicine. I can paint for hours and not even realize it. I get ideas from many areas, such as nature, photos, books, other artist and traveling.
Personally, I am a wife and a mother of two teens. My family is very supportive of my art. I have my studio in my home, where I teach drawing and painting classes to children and adults. I am active in a local church and I am licensed Social Worker.
I have a passion for art and am thankful to God for this time to follow my passion. I especially like seeing my students grow in their artwork, knowledge and ability. Each fall, my students exhibit their artwork at the local library for a month. Each year this exhibit has been well received.
I realize that not all people will enjoy my artwork, but I love seeing the first expression of “wow” on their face as they look at my paintings and then state that looks so real or it looks like a photograph.
My personal goal is to continue to grow as an artist. I am always looking for new ideas, techniques or methods to enhance my painting style. God has given us such a fantastic array of subjects, scenes, and colors in his majestic creation, that painting is always exciting.
