To create and breathe life into an otherwise basic tube of paint and piece of cloth stretched between pieces of wood, to capture a fleeting moment in time with a piece of graphite or a scrumptious stick of pure pigment, to take a deep rooted thought or pain and express it for the universe to see and feel. Art.
I have been creating all my life. Whether it is a moment of laughter or tears or painting an interpretation of someone’s favorite vacation spot, pet, or loved one, mostly though – special moments that have captured my attention due to its absurdity, color, magical moment or unexplained pain.
Canadian born and currently residing in the warmth of Fresno with a brief stay in Massachusetts and Missouri, Valerie Greene has a passion for painting. Generations of artists branch from the family tree. Grandmother Wally will be celebrating her 100th year young and still paints.
Valerie recently turned to a more impressionistic/expressionistic way to convey her art. Playing with different media to fit the mood through the years and turning to acrylic painted and layered over gesso to create a textured sort of surreal slash obscure representation of the subject.
“We are all creators as we all intertwine to make up this very moment. Enjoy Life!”
