While lucky to grow up in Monmouth,IL, after college I went West mainly for National Park proximity. By 1976 I was shooting medium format landscapes with Pentax 6x7s till the Mamiya 7 came out, & from 2012 with a Pentax 645D that eliminates Imacon scanning & spotting. After 15 years in the SF Bay area, I've been in Seattle since 1987.
I've sold to Arizona Highways Magazine & Sierra Club Calendars, among others, & have been with Photo Researchers stock agency since 1978.
Except for baseball games where I like crowds, I'd rather try to glorify quiet places where solitude is harder to avoid than find. That's when I'm more likely to do a place the justice it deserves, to at least try to make it look as good as when created.
