Everyone needs a once in a lifetime experience. You know the kind. One that leaves a lasting impression and even changes how you look at life, how you look at your surroundings. I wrote that in a book I published in 2009, 'Riding the Chisholm Trail: Once in a Lifetime' after I had that experience that changed the way I looked at the world around me. Quilts and Textiles related

Quilts began as a utilitarian item, with the strict purpose of providing warmth. These days, quilts are revered for their beauty and because not every woman sews. I appreciate the work and craftsmanship that goes into these items. My mother was a seamstress and quilter in her spare time. I, though, do not have that talent, but I love photographing quilts, both antique and new. My renewed interest in them came several years ago as I interviewed a cowboy whose daughter created him a quilt while he rode on the Chisholm Trail in a historic cattle drive. As of February 2022, I'm also adding anything related to quilting and seamstress work.
