That cold thing where if you're not a skier you would want to sneak back to bed and hibernate till it's over. That white thing where it's nice to look at but very dangerous to drive at. That messy stuff, stuff of mud after it has been thawed and filled with other dirty things around. That frosty feeling associated with Christmas if you're in areas where it of course snows. A friend once commented "I never knew Indiana can be so cold and get a lot of snowfall." I didn't either until I lived here. And as the joke goes, we don't use our salt on margaritas we need it for our driveways and byways.
