The love of nature has always been a motivating force in Tom's photography. Studying biology, art and photography in college, as well as working as an advertising photographer for over 20 years, has helped him in his travels to 'get the image.'
When Tom creates his nature images, they convey a kind of serenity that has become a signature of his photographs. His landscapes, seascapes and animal images reflect a quality of peacefulness. 'It can be exciting at times from either the journey to get there, or photographing wild animals. I've had encounters with bears, coyotes, moose and alligators. It's all part of the experience and and each picture has its own story to it.
A large majority of Tom's photographs have not been digitally changed, and many were shot on film and then scanned. Tom has a lot of experience printing on large format fine art printers, and he is very picky about what he wants to show. He does not offer photographs that do not print well because he protects his professional image. Most of Tom's photographs were intended to be printed as wall art, which is why he uses a tripod on most of his shots so that the image is as sharp as possible. He's been photographing fine art images for over 35 years.
Tom's images hang in homes, corporate offices, hotel lobbies, hospital lobbies, dental offices, mental health offices, as well as doctor's offices.
Born and raised in Omaha Nebraska, Tom moved to Phoenix AZ to attend ASU where he graduated with a bachelors degree. From there he moved to San Francisco CA, Tampa Florida, and now resides in the Fort Lauderdale Florida area.
