Natural Abstract Creations in Nature

Clouds are some of the most beautiful Abstracts Ive seen, Natural creations found in nature every day. Some pay a lot of passing attention to these ever changing Abstract creations, but we think of them as Abstract Art to be Preserved for Posterity. For if they are not preserved, many will never see them. But, as clouds are not the only abstracts found in nature, you will find others here. Abstract art uses a visual language of form, color and line to create a composition which may exist with a -degree- of independence from visual reference. Western art had been, up to the middle of the 19th century, underpinned by the logic of perspective and an attempt to reproduce an illusion of visible reality. The arts of cultures other than the European had become accessible and showed alternative ways of describing visual experience to the artist. By the end of the 19th century a new kind of art began appearing with fundamental changes taking place. The sources from which artists drew inpiration were diverse, and reflected the preoccupations in western culture. Abstract art, nonfigurative art, nonobjective art, and nonrepresentational art are loosely related terms. Abstraction indicates a departure from reality of imagery in art. This departure from accurate representation can be slight, or partial, and can be complete. Even art that aims for similarity or realistic to the highest degree can be said to be abstract, since perfect representation is elusive. Artwork which takes liberties, with color deliberately, can be said to be partially abstract. Total abstraction bears no trace of any reference to anything recognizable.
