My name is Tanja Ware and I have been an artist, in one way or another, for most of my life. I was thirteen when my first illustration was printed and commissioned portraits provided extra money all through school. Next came a 23 year career as a commercial illustratior/graphic designer. After an early retirement, I decided to try my hand at fine arts.
Currently I am working in oil, watercolor & pastels with pastels being my preferred medium. I work in the realism style, although not photo realism. I am not an abstract painter, however, I do enjoy the abstractions that come with painting subjects realistically but in a close focus format or from unusual angles. I work in a variety of genres including still life, landscape, wildlife, portraiture and western. Native American works are a favorite.
In 2001, myself and two other ladies founded a local art association, the Finley RIver Fine Artists Association. Over the years, we have had several successes, including: growing our membership from 12 to almost 80 members, operating a cooperative art gallery and hosting an average of ten art shows and related events. I served as president of the FRFA for five years and continue to be very involved.
That's my story in nut shell. I hope you like my art. I would also like to invite you to visit my website at www.tanjawareart.com . I hope to hear from you soon and thanks for looking.
