Suzanne was born and raised in Seattle Washington and lives both in Seattle and Arizona.
My journey as an artist began in 1974 and has been greatly influenced by the places I have lived. The visual differences and energy of New York City, Mexico City, Maui, Seattle and Arizona have all greatly influenced my work and have been stimulating places to live and paint in. These experiences all weave their way into the richness, vibrancy, movement and edginess of my work.
The people I paint reflect triumphs and struggles in life. Whether it is with the Angels, Wiggys (my women of inner strength, whimsy and confident), message art or breast cancer paintings (a portion of each sale from the breast cancer art goes to breast cancer research) there is always immense movement and a story to unveil in each work of art. In most cases a heart is incorporated into my paintings. It reminds me, no matter what life places in your path always “KEEP AN OPEN AND LOVING HEART”
My education at Seattle University, Burnley School of Design (now the Art Institute) and Pratt School of Art have helped me incorporate continual change in my paintings. My work has been displayed in galleries in Washington State and private collectors throughout the country.
An extensive part of what I have learned, savor and paint is the diversity in all of us. Despite our imperfections, it’s all a part of what makes us unique and beautiful.
I embrace my own uniqueness and hope all who see and enjoy my paintings, do as well…..and see the beauty and integrity of living the gift that is YOU!
