I got into this in a round-about way: touching up 1950s-vintage color photo attachments I received as jpegs. It was not long until I was opening blank jpegs and playing with what I could do with black lines on a white rectangle. The resulting sections could have color dropped into them — giving them a stained-glass-window effect. Copying the original rectangle and juxtaposing it as a mirror image is fun ... and produces surprising and delightful designs, some of which contain portions resembling birds or animals. Other cards use a colored background with white lines and shapes, or are done with the brush, line and pencil tools. Playing with the image and filter options brings satisfaction, too. One thing yet to try: Take one design, ( perhaps the 'Birds and Berries' ) and make an 8.5-inch by 11-inch copy — or a poster to hang on a wall.
