I started painting around age ten after visiting an art museum. My grandparent's farm provided the inspiration during the summer. There were old cars rusting in the field and the landscape also inspired me. After high school I joined the Marines for tuition and majored in Arts Administration at Pfeiffer University. In 2006 my paintings were exhibited at the Hickory Museum of Art and my work was recently published in a children's book. In 2011 I completed my MA in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University. I am an art educator and I work at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, NC.

When I reflect on my work I think of the people that I've met and the places I've traveled. I have to agree with a quote made by Picasso, 'Painting is just another way of keeping a diary.' As an art educator my goal is to be proficient in all media including photography.
