Sophia was introduced to arts at a very young age. She began her first art steps at the age of 2 at her father art studio -artist Daniel Pontet- and has enjoyed the ability to express her many feelings on canvas. She also attended courses such as Exploring Arts (dance, music, acting, and painting), Exploring Music Theater, and Ballet at Arts Academy of Hollywood, Florida from 2007 to 2009. Her main mediums are acrylic, pencils, and markers. Sophia s artworks express the purity of childhood, a unique life stage full of fantasy and curiosity. With no preconceived notions of art and style, and no concepts borrowed from others, there are no limitations on her colorful work. At times her painting is wild and chaotic, but we also see enough order and unity that indicates a distinctive style. Her youthful self-confidence was not all that surprising. After all, Sophia has already spent countless hours exploring her own creative world.

In despite of her age, she had valuable experiences in 2008. She had the chance to paint -even attracting the attention of many bystanders- at Jackson Square in New Orleans, one of the culturally richest cities in the United States. New York -Cultural Center, Consulate of Uruguay- was her first open door, where she could show her artwork with a great success. Articles in newspapers and a couple of interviews in two different and well-known national channels -Univision and Telemundo- gave her recognition not only to her work but also to her effort and dedication. In 2009, she continues exhibiting her paintings with a great uproar at the Svenska Konstgalleriet at Malmo, Suecia, as well as The Gallery at Museum of the America in Doral, Florida. Sophia determination could make her a little artist in her own right as she grows. Watching her art develop is an adventure for all of us. Who knows what lies ahead for her? As Pablo Picasso said -It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child-

Sophia comenzo su relacion con las artes a una temprana edad. Sus primeros pasos en la plastica empezaron a la edad de dos, en el taller de su padre –el artista Daniel Pontet- Ella disfrutaba de esa magica habilidad de poder expresar sus muchos y variados sentimientos sobre las telas. Tambien, paralelamente, asistio a diferentes cursos como Exploracion en las Artes (danza, musica, actuacion y pintura) Introduccion a la Musica, Teatro y Ballet en la Academia de Artes de Hollywood, Florida desde el 2007 hasta el 2009. Sus principales medios son la pintura acrilica, lapices y marcadores. Los trabajos de Sophia expresan la pureza de la niñez, un periodo de la vida unico lleno de fantasia y curiosidad. Sin nociones preconcebidas de arte o estilo, sin conceptos prestados de otros, su colorido trabajo no encuentra límites. Su obra, a veces, parece salvaje o caotica pero tambien se puede ver alli un orden y unidad que indica un estilo particular. Su inocente auto confianza no fue en realidad una sorpresa. Despues de todo, Sophia ya habia estado trabajando largas horas explorando su propio mundo creativo.

A pesar de su corta edad, ella tuvo experiencias muy valiosas en el 2008. En Jackson Square en New Orleans, una de las ciudades ricas culturalmente de EE.UU., encontro la primera oportunidad de pintar en publico -atrayendo la atencion de muchos curiosos-

Articulos en periodicos y un par de entrevistas en dos populares canales de television -Univision y Telemundo- le dieron el reconocimiento no solo a su trabajo sino a todo su esfuerzo y dedicacion. En el 2009, ella continua exhibiendo sus pinturas con gran alboroto en Svenska Konstgalleriet en Malmo, Suecia, tanto como en The Gallery en el Museum of the America en el Doral, Florida. La determinación de Sophia podría otorgarle el derecho a ser una pequeña artista mientras crece. Observar el proceso en su trabajo es una aventura para todos nosotros ¿quien sabe lo que le aguarda más adelante? Tanto como Pablo Picasso dijo -Me llevo cuatro años pintar como Rafael pero me llevo toda una vida pintar como un niño-
