Welcome to my web site of watercolors and photographs! I discovered my love for watercolor after a 35 year career in nursing. Watercolor is a medium that no one taught, in my 4 years of high school art, or museum classes. It has been on my wish-list to learn for many years. Watercolor has such surprising possibilities. You never know what fascination will happen when your brush touches the paper. I have taken painting classes from four wonderful, local watercolor artists and attend workshops. My work is on display frequently with Mint Hill Arts Gallery (NC), and the Cabarrus Art Guild at the Depot at Gibson Mill, in Concord, NC.
As a child, I was always interested in art, nature, and taking photographs. I had the privilege of taking a Master Gardener course 15 years ago. My love for gardens and flowers has been the inspiration for many of my paintings. I was introduced to photography at an early age by my Grandmother, and have taken hundreds of photos, many being of plants from our garden. Everyone tells me I am a colorist! Color adds beauty to the world. Some days we need this beauty more then others, in this trying environment. I hope my paintings bring peace, joy, happiness, and a smile, to all who view! My husband and I live in North Carolina now, but are originally from Ohio, and have two married sons.
If you are interested in purchasing any of my original watercolors, please feel free to contact me to see if they are still available.
