I grew up in Knoxville, TN near the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park but now live in a suburb of Chattanooga, TN. A lifelong love of nature and an interest in photography since childhood started me on a photographic journey that continues today. Photography became a passion for me in 2008 with the purchase of my first digital camera. Initially nature was the primary focus of my photography, but there was a lurking interest in the old, run down, and time worn objects around me.
A chance encounter with a tiny mushroom and it's long shadow produced by the late day sun created a passion, and an ongoing search, for the smaller more intimate details around me. The fast pace of today’s world and the lifestyle chosen by many leaves little time for enjoying the unique and often missed details around us. My photographic interests may seem eclectic to you at times because there is so much around me that I find interesting, but I seem to always come back to the details.
