Denison Dam Texas
A few years ago in July, the Denison Dam, which dams the Red River between OK & TX, located at Denison, TX reached capacity due to an abundance of rain. With countless days of endless rain, the dam's flood gates had to be opened to help release some of the water and relieve Lake Texoma. Because of towns down river, the opening of the gates had to be monitored. The lake eventually reached a level the gates could not handle and the water spilled over the spillway, flooding low lying areas and washing out one road.
