Lockridge Iron Works
The images in this gallery are from a partially restored iron works in Alburtis Pennsylvania. This was a very large operation employing several hundred men. The iron making process was unique at the time, employing anthracite coal instead of coke or charcoal. A rail spur brought in the raw materials and several of the large supports for the rails are still in place.
