Robert DeWolfe was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1974. His father is a renowned Canadian artist and it was from him that Robert learned and was inspired to create art. From a young age he was interested in tales of adventure and military history, inspired by Sunday afternoon movies on TV starring Errol Flynn as Robin Hood or Captain Blood and John Wayne as Sgt. Stryker as well as books like Kidnapped and Lives of a Bengal Lancer, it was inevitable that Robert's art focused mainly on knights and soldiers. After completing High School Robert went on to join the Canadian Armed Forces as an armoured crewman in the Royal Canadian Dragoons. Still continuing to practice his art he has travelled the world with the army, sometimes virtually following in actual footsteps of military men from history that he admires.
Robert DeWolfe continues to serve in the Canadian Army and also operates a business as a free lance illustrator. He is married with a daughter and lives in northern Ontario.
