The astounding beauty and wonder of the world surrounds us all. Artists consume many, many hours trying to do justice to God's creation. If painting has only caused me to notice and appreciate details, design and color, then it will have opened my eyes and given me the gift of appreciation that makes each day much fuller. It's truly a beautiful world!
My home is in the thriving upstate of South Carolina. There are mountains one hour to the north and beaches four hours to the southeast. We enjoy all four seasons with all their splendor. Throw in family and friends....what more could one ask for?
I love painting with vibrant colors which takes a little longer when watercolor is the medium. If color is your goal, the extra time is well spent. I choose my subjects because of their vivid colors or I create colors where there are none. During this process the paintings begin to feel like a part of the family. They are lovingly created and cared for.
My love of animals and color collided when I was allowed to work from photos that friends had taken on an African safari. What a thrill that has been! So far I have painted six different animals from those photos and for some strange reason continually find myself painting zebras.
One of my zebra paintings was a natural for my business namesake. She was named Glory and was painted with intense color; I became Color Glory.
