As a child I always wanted to draw. I dabbled in art until I was old enough for art college. I attended Ontario College of Art in the late 60's, but never got into the painting at that time. Advertising Art was to be my destiny. As time went on and I mothered 3 kids into adulthood, I had very little time to work with my passion ..painting. Finally 15 years ago I decided to try my hand at what I had yearned for, and amazingly it came to me very easily. Well, it gave me such pleasure to play with the paints, and see what I could do with them. Since then I have never looked back, and continued to paint my favorite things...nature, florals, gardens..anything organic I guess. Trying a few different styles, I still remain an impressionist at heart. I actually coined a new style for my art....'Idealism' !! In my work I focus on the immediate object and try to perfect it, while surrounding it with impressionistic backgrounds. To me thats idealism...ideally you see what you enjoy and all the rest blends in and accentuates , making it ideal. Any other thoughts on this? Please let me know.
Since my painting started in 1995, I have attended many exhibitions in Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto areas. I have also appeared on a couple of TV shows with my work. Many compliments come my way constantly, and I am eager to sell more of my work. Right now I am exhibiting work in Hot Springs Arkansas at the Legacy Gallery. Also my masterpiece 'Waterlilies' was on display at the Museum of Contemporary Art.
My Motto is; 'Just let me paint, and I'll be happy' As retirement is approaching, painting will fulfill my days, and hopefully I can make some sales to help with living expenses. You'll find me outside in nature...my total inspiration. I'm in glory in the midst of Mother Nature's paradise!
