M C Zacharow
Marian Christopher Zacharow, born in Zamosc, Poland in 1954. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in 1979. He left Poland for the United States in 1981, to take up permanent residence in New York. He specializes in book and press illustration. His artwork has been featured in various magazines, including: Time, The New York Times, Business Week, U.S. News and World Report, Newsweek, The Atlantic Monthly, Psychology Today. He also works with publishers like Franklin Library, Viking Penguin, William Morrow, Harper Collins, Simon & Schuster, Inc. Random House. Received many awards for his work including Silver Medal from The Society of Illustrators of New York in 1986. He has been lecturer in painting at The Cooper Union Continuing Education in New York since 1997,illustration at the Parsons School of Design since 2000. Visiting Assistant Professor, Adjunct at Pratt Institute in New York since 2007. He has been subject of profile in art publications: Idea (Japan), Grafica (Brazil). He has staged one- man painting exhibitions in Krakow (1976, 1977,1978, 2000) Chicago (2000), New York (ten times since 1983) and has participated in many group exhibitions in U.S., Canada and Europe.
