At 71, Phyllis Mae Richardson Fisher still enjoys painting. She is the seventh of eight children born on the Arizona desert, in the same area her grandfather homesteaded after breaking down on his way to California in the late 1800's. Raised in Southern Arizona, Phyllis remembers lots of good times and memories associated with her siblings. As a young teenager Phyllis' family moved to Redmond, OR, where she went on to study commercial illustration and design and graduate from Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls.
At age 66, Phyllis and her daughter, Janey Loree, started PJ's Corner Gift Shoppe. The gift shoppe at www.pjscorner.net is an online presence filled with handmade gifts that help you keep in touch with your family, friends, and acquaintances. All our items created with family in mind, showcase designs created from Phyllis' artwork. Paper dolls are prominent in the shoppe as Phyllis continues to design new dolls and clothes. Diabetes has made Phyllis almost blind and with the aid of magnifying glasses, eating right, and plenty of exercise, she still sits down at her art desk to continue adding to her portfolio!
