I began my fascination with photography at the age of 12. My first love was the darkroom. I quickly learned to develop and print my black and white photographs in the basement. I also became enamored with the optics of pinhole cameras. I remember taking overnight exposures of snow forts and snowmen in the back yard.
In high school I got my first 35mm camera. I took it on our family vacation to Hawaii. In the military I loved taking photos at air shows.
After my marriage the responsibilities of family crowded out my time and budget for photography, although I never lost interest.
When the kids were grown, I took up the hobby again. Concentrating at first on digital media and then returning to black and white in the darkroom.
I received my photographic education at Richland College, in Richardson, Texas by taking continuing education classes that taught the art of photography and studio photography.
I am currently retired from my career as a computer programmer and I've begun to concentrate on transforming and reducing my digital images to works of art that please and amaze those who see them.
