Lisbon, 13 of April,1970.
Paula Rosa showed an early fascination for the Visual Arts and Design, which proceeded naturally in her academic training. In 1998, she completed a degree in Pedagogical Media Design at the renowed Jean Piaget Institute in Lisbon.
In Sweden, she participated in conferences, workshops and other projects at the University of Halmstad, the Nordic Center for Research on Toys and Educational Media and at Brio Toys.
In addition, developed a variety of projects in the field of special equipment, targeted to individuals with chronic non-progressive encephalopathy, the blind and the partially sighted.She is also Co-founder of HomoLudens Design, studio specialized in the creation of industrial equipment, graphic design and communication.
In 2008, she graduated in Design of Equipment and Space at the Lusófona University in Lisbon.
Alongside her activity as a designer, she has passionately explored various artistic languages and ways within the Visual Arts. Painting and Sculpture assume a preferential status in her artistic activity. From the traditional canvas to the tridimensionality of forms, she has been searching for new languages and new means of expression, conscious that 'learning has the exact duration of a lifetime'.
In 2000, she became aware of the importance of new digital technologies and how they have been revolutionizing the world of arts, starting a period of experimentation and exploration of the computer as a tool for artistic creation. The new digital screen displays up to Paula Rosa, as an 'infinite canvas', full of possibilities and completely fascinating. From the digital technology results the 'wonderful fusion of arts and emerge a completely new aesthetics, putting the artist in a captivating world where the fast development of resources and tools, feeds and continuously enriches the creative process'. Paula Rosa have explored new techniques, themes, tools and languages in the digital context, seeking to combine the different visual arts such as painting, photography, drawing, video and the wide area of Design, with music, architecture and literature.
Her work can be found in international collections, in a variety of online galleries, in some national and international publications, in the Museum of Digital Arts and the Museum of Computer Art.
Paula Rosa has carried out training operations in the context of art created digitally, through conferences and workshops, to disseminate and raise awareness of new designers to the importance of technology to serve the artist. She has also established collaborations with various authors and institutions, national and international, focousing on the disclosure, development, organization and classification of digital artistic production.
