Patty Meotti

Patty Meotti, born in Milan, Italy, on Valentine’s Day 1962, is now living between Saint Martin (West Indies) and Italy.
The desire to express herself with colors started already as a young girl. She followed her passion by going to various Art schools, where she learned different techniques like graphic ink, color pencil, aquarelle, and acrylics.
She started her first steps in the art world as hyper realistic Illustrator using photographs to reproduce the images, especially portraits.
This she continued to do for many years, until she had a grave car accident which changed her life, physically and psychologically.
She lost most of the sensibility of the right hand, and this caused her to change her style of painting. Now she does more abstract, follows her passion for Hats of the époque “La Dolce Vita”, of which the greatest part of her collection consists. “La Dolce Vita” was a period after the Second World War -50’s and 60’s- during which Itay was booming economically, mainly thanks to the “Vespa” scooter and “Fiat 500” car, all Made in Italy.
It was during the same period that her father was very successful as Doctor in Chemical Industry, and which left her many photo’s and memories, which explains her passion with Hats of that time period.
She is a member of the “Art lovers Association” of Saint Martin and now paints acrylics on canvas, as well as trompe l’oeil Murals.

Patty Meotti est nee a Milan, Italie, le 14 Fevrier 1962, et vie maintenant entre Italie et Saint Martin.

Le desir de s’exprimer par les couleurs date d’une age tres jeune. Elle a suivie sa passion en faisant plusieurs ecoles d’art, ou elle a appris des differents techniques comme l’encre graphique, les crayons couleurs, aquarelle et acrylique.
Elle a commence dans le monde des arts comme illustratrice hyper-realiste en utilisant des photos pour reproduire des images, surtout des portraits.

Elle a continue avec cela jusqu’a un jour sa vie a change, physiquement et psychiquement, a cause d’une accident de voiture grave.
Ayant perdue une grande partie de la sensibilite de sa main droite, elle a change son style de peinture. Maintenant elle fait plutot de l’abstrait, en suivant sa passion pour les chapeaux de l’epoque “La Dolce Vita”. La plus grande partie de sa collection consiste de ces chapeaux. “la Dolce Vita” etait une epoque apres la 2eme guerre mondiale (annees50– 60) pendant laquelle L’Italie passait par un “boom” economique grace surtout au scooter “Vespa” et la “Fiat 500”, tous Made in Italy. C’etait pendant la meme periode que son pere avait beaucoup de succes comme Docteur en Chimie, ce que l’a laisse beaucoup de souvenirs et photos, et explique sa passion pour les chapeaux de cette epoque.

Elle est membre de l”Association Art Lovers” de Saint Martin et paint maintenant acrylic sur toile ainsi que des trompes l’oeils.
