Those who know me know that I dream about my quilt designs. I took up quilting after meeting someone that quilted only red and white quilts and offered to teach me. From that point on I was hooked. Although I have a degree in Child Psychology and Family Studies, there were no jobs available at the time so I continued to grow as a quilter. I took machine quilting classes. After practice, practice, practice, I started my own business. I met wonderful contacts working with vendors, special customers, and being published in quilting magazines. One problem was that I wasn’t finding time to quilt for myself. As an artist I felt stuck.
Not wanting to loose my love for my quilting art, I closed my business doors (except for an occasional one that comes my way). I started to explore what was out there. I kept trying new things like different fabric painting techniques, thread art, and mixed media on clothe.
In the last few years my quilting art started taking a direction that I never thought it would. I dream about a quilt design and my purpose is to translate that to fabric. After 20 years of quilting, a lot of love and energy is attached to the quilts that I am putting out today. My goal is to share a little of that love with you.
Each quilt that I make has a butterfly either quilted, stitched, a photo or a butterfly bead attached to the quilt somewhere. For butterflies are always changing.
