Nathan McCreery is a fine art photographer residing in Clovis, New Mexico, USA with his wife, several dogs and other animals that seem to come and go. He has made photographs since early childhood. 'One of my earliest memories, as a child, is that of finding an old Kodak folding camera in the crawl space of the home where we lived in Encinitas, California. I would work to get enough money to go to the corner drug store to buy a roll of film and then take it back for processing. When the pictures came back in it was like Christmas time. I still get that excited about new photographs, and even new iterations of older ones.' Since those early days Nathan has almost always had a camera nearby. He is a classically trained visual artist with a strong background in graphic design. Although the processes haven't changed much in all these years (a large portion of my photographs are still produced using film and paper) his techniques have changed tremendously. 'I have been very blessed in my life to be friends with some of the most well known, and accomplished, photographers in the world, in several different genres of the art'. Although the popularity of the use of film in the photographic process is in strong decline Nathan remains committed to the hand production of his fine art photographs. Some of the of the black and white photographs you see here are available as either a digital print or as a hand printed traditional silver photograph. Since I worked for years as a fine art photographer using film before there was digital photography, some of the black and white photographs are available only as hand printed photographs since no digital file of them exists. In those instances the cost structure will be different, but I will note which those are. All of the color work is digitally produced as the materials for hand printing these is no longer available.
