Morteza Ariana is a professional photographer and graphic designer. Born in Tehran in 1964, he later left Iran and moved to Germany, where
he worked as a freelance photographer. This led him to Malawi, Mozambique, Southeast Asia, and Korea. He also traveled extensively through South America, photographing people in the context of their daily lives. In 2001 he moved to Japan. He incorporates Zen art and wabi-sabi influences into his photography, resulting in several exhibitions in Osaka and Kobe. Since 2009 he has deepened his connection with East Asian arts as an art dealer. He is currently living in Cambodia.
