My work is mainly in watercolour, as being trained as an illustrator, this was most immediate and transportable. However I have grown to love the medium more and more as I have illustrated books, mainly for children, and taken many various private commissions. At the moment I am also experimenting with Interactive Acrylics having really enjoyed working in oils at the start of my career, and hoping for the best of both worlds with these. However watercolour will still be my first choice.

My painting is representational, and from my love of illustration and the masters of the past, each of my own paintings have a story behind them, a thought process that inspired me.

For my portrait commissions I have taken a personal interest in the sitter, be it a person or a pet, endeavoring to create something of their character or personality. For flower or landscape commissions I have tried to create the ambiance or feeling that my client has expressed a wish for.
