Mary was born in Toronto, an only child to Greek parents who immigrated to Canada and settled in the Bloor-West Village during the mid 1960s. As a child, Mary was fortunate to travel with her parents to Greece over summer holidays. Her father was a sportsman and loved the great outdoors. On many occasions, long weekends were spent exploring Ontario usually with the family dog, sketch pads, paints and books. This inspired her to return to art and rediscover the joy it brought her.
