My interest in painting nature begins from my professional studies of Biology at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico with assignature on “ Drawing Applied to Biology ” by the great Scientific Illustrator and Teacher Aldi de Oyarzábal, one of the founder members of the Mexican Academy of Scientific Illustration.
Along with my progress in the scientific area there was always my need to capture nature with its great variety of color and detail which Iead me into the world of the Photography and Microphotography with Science Master Alejandro Martínez Mena at the Microcine Laboratory also at UNAM.
As soon as my scientific career was concluded, I had the opportunity to learn for two years the wonderful watercolor technique and began in the portrait skill, which always exists as commission work and paralell line to my work with plants.
Later on, having come to live to Cancún and chasing progress on my painting, I was integrated to the great Plastic Artist and Teacher Luis A. González Yáñez ' Drawing and Painting' Workshop. I have taken part in Solo and Collective Shows at the Ministry of Culture of the Government of the State of Quintana Roo and other cultural spaces.
Some of my obtained achievements this year were the invitation on the part of the Museum of Textiles Ixchel in Guatemala to take my paintings to exhibit as well as the permanent exhibition of my work in the prestigious Amarte Gallery along the Mayan Riviera (Maroma Foundation) where I had my first solo show 'Detente a mirar' , an exhibition of 18 pieces that capture images on the flora of my country with a “Macro ' aproach where there could be appreciated the details that we commonly unnotice when we observe the nature that surrounds us.
Some of my work with plants was part of the exhibition used at the Rio Cumbre in Cancún for the reception of the Presidents attending this meeting and right now is in a traveling exhibition around the universities of the states of Yucatan and Quintana Roo.
Two more series of plants have been showed in the past year on the exclusive Boutique Hotel Villa Rolandi at Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo and some of them are actually at Jorge Fenton's Gallery at this place.
My latest work are abstract pieces, let's see if you like them..........
