Museums Galleries and Other Public Spaces
I love showing my fine art photography and seeing people react to it in person. I also love the idea of my art helping to soothe people in times of deep stress. I've actually had my work shown in two Manhattan museums, the first was a student show at the International Center of Photography back in 1989, but more recently as a pro in a multi-media exhibition on Hurricane Sandy at The Museum of the City of New York in 2013. My work is in the permanent collection of two local hospitals: Two of my sailboat images printed large on metal in the spa themed oncology department at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York help to make the wait a little more bearable, I hope. A friend being treated at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, New York some years ago said my image of reeds in the sunlight on their walls always helped him feel a little calmer. Proof to me that art is necessary in our lives, especially in times of stress. I have shown my work in over half a dozen juried shows at galleries in New York and Connecticut as well as at pop up shows (both group and solo) in New York and New Jersey. This gallery includes open editions of the images in those shows that are available here.
