I have been hooked on photography since age six when my grandmother, returning from a trip to Egypt, passed on her well-traveled Kodak Brownie camera as well as her wanderlust.   A travel, editorial and fine art photographer by profession, my images seek to shine a light on the reality around me and to evoke an emotional response.   My work has been shown in galleries throughout the New York metropolitan area, including at the Museum of the City of New York and hang in the collections of private, institutional and corporate collectors.   They have been published in Smithsonian and Coastal Living...more

Digital Dreams

The starting point for each of the images in this collection was the click of my camera's shutter. I could have exhibited most of these images them with no further intervention, and in fact, you can find some of the original photos on display here, but I found something in each one that encouraged me to have a little more fun. These works are rooted in reality, and yet they come from my imagination. They are photographs and something else as well. Romantic Forest Muir Woods was one of 20 featured photos on PhotoShelter, which hosts 77,000 professional photographer web sites. Memory is Fleeting won Best of Show in a juried competition at the Westchester Professional Photographers Association in 2013. White Night placed first and The Red Kite earned a Merit in in 2012 with that same organization. Big Yellow Taxi took first prize in a competition here on FAA. Two of my Wonder Wheel Series have been in juried gallery shows, Wonder Wheel Series Green at the Carriage Barn in New Canaan, Connecticut in 2016 and Wonder Wheel and Plane Series Purple at the Upstream Gallery in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York in 2017. Vintage Castle Hill was chosen for the Rye Arts Center Small Works show in 2017 and was also shown in a solo show in Armonk, NY. And Bridge of Angels Tetraptych was the hit of my solo show in Chappaqua NY in the summer of 2017. So, I am encouraged to keep experimenting. Hope you enjoy them! And buy one or more to put on your walls.
