Since childhood I have always had a love of the outdoors, wildlife and nature. The beautiful countryside and coastline surrounding my home never fails to disappoint and it is so wonderful to have all this just beyond my doorstep. For me, there is nothing more enjoyable than a long walk with my gorgeous hound Rennes, through woodland or along the beach, always with a camera slung over my shoulder.
I studied for a BSc(Hons) degree in Biology(zoology) at Kingʼs College, London, but never thought my continuing interest in the natural world would turn into a passion for photography!
At the press of a button I had the power to capture a split second in time, a unique moment, a moment that can never be recreated again. The more photographs I took, the more I began to understand the creative power aperture and shutter speed could add to my pictures, allowing me to put my own spin on the world around me. Freezing action with a fast shutter speed or deliberately transforming the world to a blur by slowing things down.
I enjoy many genres of photography, but my main passion remains taking photographs of the natural world I find around me, especially birds.
The camera is a powerful creative tool - the thrill of being able to capture a moment in so many different ways never diminishes.
I do hope you enjoy my images and a little glimpse into my world...
