About me:
Got Clay?
I do! =]
I'm 44 & live in Colorado. I'm newly married to a wonderful man, an amazing photographer, Jeremy, who is also on FAA!

I lived in Alaska for 15 years where I went to the University of Alaska Anchorage & graduated in 2004 with a Bachelors of Fine Art. (Magna Cum Laude, brag brag!) I majored in Sculpture with a secondary in painting & metals-smithing/jewelry making.
I've been dealing with a chronic pain disorder, Fibromyalgia (FMS), for the last 25 years, which has severely altered my life & art endeavors. I've had to give up most of my artwork. Oil based clay (which is what I LOVE) is harmful to me because of my allergies & sensitivities to chemicals, oil paint, acrylics & metals-smithing materials all affect me as well. I became so ill in 2006 that I was bedridden for a few months & then housebound after that. Giving up art wasn't an option, so I'm on a constant search for new ways of doing art, it being my second love of my life, I can't give it up completely. I've been using Polymer Clay for sculptures, vessels & jewelry, as well as doing other jewelry (without the metals or the smithing) & also learning to use water-soluble paints.
I'd love to hear from you, any questions, comments or advice is greatly appreciated! I love our art community & I enjoy talking to those who are interested in art, all kinds, or hey, why lie, I enjoy selling stuff too. So send me a message if you'd like ANY info!

I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy making it!!!
A SIDE POINT: I am also working (slowly) on organizing a group & possibly doing art shows, with artists dealing with illnesses or disabilities of some kind. I've met so many artists who struggle with some ailment of one kind or another, & they always seem to have the same view on art as I do, its therapeutic for them, & a necessity in life, despite the trouble they face creating it. I believe if we organize our group, it will also involve others in the art-world as well as educate people about the different trials that 'sick' artists deal with. If you're interested in getting a group together, or having art shows & competitions for people like us, please contact me, I'd love to hear from you & your stories.
