Lee Alban - Fine Artist

Lee Alban is a graduate of the Schuler School of Fine Arts in Baltimore, Maryland. His work is founded in the traditions of the Old Masters, grinding his paints from powdered pigments and preparing canvasses by hand. He produces his own medium based on the teachings of Jacques Maroger and Ann Didusch Schuler.
Lee operates a studio in Havre de Grace, Maryland, where he teaches oil painting and watercolor techniques. His expertise includes still life, landscape, figuratives, and portraiture.
Lee’s painting, “No Batteries Required,” was selected by the Oil Painter’s of America to be included at the 2005 National Exhibition at Hilligoss Galleries in Chicago. Other juried exhibitions have included The International Realists Exhibition, Santa Fe, New Mexico, Arts Alive (Ocean City, MD), the Havre de Grace Art Show, Pictures at an Exhibition (Bel Air, MD), the Maryland Federation of Art, the Bel Air Arts Festival, the York Art Association, the Baltimore Watercolor Society, Art Quest (Aberdeen, MD), the Patuxent Art League, and the Laurel Art Guild. Two of his paintings, “The Kitchen Counter” and “One Day Last Spring” are scheduled for a museum exhibition tour in 2008-2010 in the show, “The New Realists.”
His work has been published in books and various magazines with International distribution.
