My name is Kimberly Lavelle. What separates my work from that of other artists is that my intent with my work is to capture and honor the unique spirit of your pet in watercolor. I work from photos and especially enjoy capturing the essence of the life I see shining out through their eyes.
I am delighted to announce many recent awards in Fine Art America contests:1st place award for 'Through His Eyes' and 2nd place award for 'Our Portrait' in the contest called 'Inspired by Spirit or Spirituality' that ended on November 28th 2010, 1st place award for 'Tanner and Kodi' in the contest 'Kids' that ended on December 18th, 2010, 'Cardinal' earned a 3rd place award in the contest 'Cardinals' on December 25th, 2010, 'Bliss' earned 1st place award in the contest 'Humor' on December 26th, 2010 and 'Courtney's Sunflower' won 1st place honors in the 'Still LIfe Floral Watercolor' contest on December 27th, 2010, also on that day 'Our Portrait earned the 1st place award in the contest 'Me, Myself and I' !!!
In addition to my animal portraits I have experimented with painting portraits of children and am currently painting florals and some fun fantasy type work.
