Megan Thielman - Fine Artist

Born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1996, Megan Thielman started taking art lessons at the age of six. Since she has been home schooled from the first grade, she has appreciated the extra time for creativity, art, and imagination. For six years, she has been student of Nadine Rippelmeyer, a national selling artist, and she was an art aide, or teaching assistant, to some of the younger art classes for four years, when she moved to Shanghai, China. She has had her work in local art shows and published in a calendar contest and the Fayetteville Public Library�s �The Wanderer�. Her favorite medium is acrylic paint, but she also enjoys graphite pencil drawings and chalk pastels. She finds inspiration in her faith, her love for nature, her family and six sisters, and the Chinese culture. In 2008, she traveled to China with her family to adopt her second Chinese sister, and fell in love with China. She now lives there and continues to draw inspiration from her surroundings. She loves traveling, and in the summer of 2010, she went on an art trip to Italy for ten days and a missions trip to Costa Rica for four weeks. She loves learning about art and trying new things with color and media.
