Kelly Hazel
Kelly hazel was born and raised in Upstate South Carolina. She discovered a love for drawing at a very young age and pursued that interest throughout her childhood and school career. She attended the Fine Arts Center, a magnet school for the Arts, from 1996 to 1998. There she discovered photography as well as an appreciation for three dimensional arts. She also attended the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts at Furman University during her senior year in high school. The continued her education at Greenville Technical college and continues to attend workshops, lectures, and other programs on fine arts, drawing, and photography throughout the year. Her photography has been featured in two books: Weaving on Gourds and New and Different materials for Weaving and Coiling, both by Marianne Barnes.
She continues to live in Upstate South Carolina with her husband John, son Jacob, and dog named Sprocket. She currently owns and operates Kelly Hazel Photography which specializes in photography of fine arts, portfolios, and other products, and is working on a third book.
