Raised in central Massachusetts, Karen developed a love of nature early on in life through shadowing her father from taking walks in the quietness of the woods nearby or riding shotgun for long rides over the back roads to nowhere. Her father instilled in her a deep love of nature as well as an even deeper love for animals. Living in a somewhat rural area afforded the family to own various animals throughout the years, most notably, Shetland ponies, in which she found great joy in helping her father care for.
I have recently renewed my love for horses by volunteering at Blue Star Equiculture in Palmer, MA. Blue Star is a draft horse rescue/working organic farm. It is here that I have been given the opportunity to photograph horses in all aspects - from new arrivals, existing residents to horses working. I have also had the opportunity to have some hands on experience with the horses, somethnig I am extremely thankful for.
I will be dedicating a gallery specifically to showcase the horses and beautiful grounds of Blue Star Equiculture. A portion of the proceeds of any sale from this gallery will be donated directly to Blue Star to help in their fundraising efforts. It is my hope that I will be able to give to them a donation on a monthly basis - please help me make that dream come true.
You can learn more about Blue Star by visiting:
or their Facebook page Blue Star Equiculture
I will also be posting other galleries ... landscapes, florals, nature, etc.
Thank you for stopping by my page and I hope that you enjoy my photos.
