John Stoj, (pronounced Stoy)...is a retired Resort Promoter/Marketer/Photographer... During his early years in the mid 1960’s, he worked in the local resort industry, and started taking SLR photos … Later, in college, he studied Microbiology, Environmental Sciences, and Photography, geared toward a National or State Parks Superintendent career… In the 1970's, he had the opportunity to create & compose original slide shows for the Pennsylvania State Park Service. And thereafter, with the City of Pittsburgh, he gave slide show presentations and tours, in their environmental education and “Open Schools” programs. Eventually, he returned to the resort industry to promote and market national/regional resort groups. His photography and photography related work has earned corporate royalties, with regional and national recognition. Nearly all of his DSLR photographs are from Carbon County, PA. These original local area photos have often been published, and have earned numerous art show ribbons, competition awards. They continue to generate great feedback and conversation. Besides nature, he enjoys photographing national show events. His work appears on numerous music artist's websites as well as a recent book cover, CD covers, photography books, regional highway billboards, and lots of local area publications. Currently, John is an active member of the Carbon County Art League and has served two years as CCAL president elect.
