Born 15 April 1949 in Wrekenton, Gateshead in the United Kingdom. First took an interest in art at age 4 when my grandfather taught me how to draw a horse and cart. Practised for the last 60 years and still can't get it right. As I reached my twenties I took up an interest in photography and read every book I could lay my hands on. Photography was my passion although I spent most of my working life as a civil servant and then finishing off the last 25 years of my career as a financial advisor, then that of a driving instructor and decided for the safer option of opening my own photographic studio in 2009 just as the world went into financial meltdown. Starting a business in the midst of the biggest recession since the 1930's probably wasn't such a good idea. Due to the lack of clients with sufficient funds and to the massive growth in Smartphone cameras I finally decided to go into semi-retirement, and here I am!
