John Edward Marin was borin in 1970 in Hillsboro, NH. His is the youngest of six children and brought up in a traditional household. As a teenager, John was a competitive freestyle biker, snowboarder, skateboarder, and drummer in a garage band.
Thoughout John's life he has worked with hid hands. Aprenticing and eventually becoming a master carpenter, working in Nantucket, MA, Denver, CO, and Atlanta, GA.
Ispired by a group of artists he worked with at a manufacturing company, designing and building furniturere for the trade, John started his art carreer in Alantnta GA in 2002.
Combining his life experience, love for carpentry, design skills, desire to create, quest for spriitual truth, a paragmatic nature and passion, John has developeed a mixed media art that expresses these qualitiies and more.
Starting with art panels he builds himself, or stretched canvas, the artist creates a background, followed by a free pour. What happens after that is up to inspiration, chance, mood and materials. Many of John's works are finished in Epoxy resin. This clear, hard, plastic likdecoating offers a unique aspect that adds depth to his already fascinating work.
Craating is a way of life for John, and finding his voice with painting has been a source of great Joy. John now lives in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, after moving to LA in August of 2006.
